Journaling was always something I felt I should do and I knew about its profound benefits. Yet, it remained a practice I struggled to adopt. In 2022, everything changed when I discovered oracle cards combined with journaling. Suddenly, pulling a card became the catalyst I needed to embrace this daily ritual. Each card seemed to align perfectly with my life, whether the moment was minor or profound, igniting a genuine excitement to journal daily based on the card drawn.
Soon, my collection expanded to include various decks, and I eagerly anticipated conducting yearly spreads as each new year began. These spreads became invaluable tools for reflection and intuition, revealing how the card's energy wove through each day and month. Even encountering what might seem like a "negative" card became an opportunity for deep introspection—a chance to explore inner thoughts and let go of what no longer served me. The addition of affirmations provided daily guidance and reminders throughout the month.
Since then, I've continued to deepen my daily practice and have pursued multiple courses on journaling, including those focused on integrating oracle cards. Learning about the scientific benefits has been eye-opening and validating. There is a distinct brain pattern associated with writing by hand versus typing, with pen-to-paper journaling stimulating the brain's motor cortex in a way akin to meditation. This insight underscores the therapeutic power of journaling and its profound connection to mindfulness.
Whether you're drawn to journaling or not, oracle cards remain a deeply introspective tool. I find great joy in conducting readings with others and witnessing how each month's card resonates with their journey ahead. Through affirmations and our monthly conversations, intuition unfolds, fostering meaningful introspection, profound reflection, and a connection with your higher self.

Journaling isn't just about self-expression—it's a powerful tool for reducing stress, uplifting mood, and deepening self-awareness. Studies from 2018 highlight its role in easing mental distress and promoting overall well-being. Science supports the myriad benefits of journaling, from enhancing mental and physical health to boosting memory, relationships, and productivity. Best of all, it's accessible to everyone, requiring nothing more than a notebook and pen.
Beyond its therapeutic benefits, journaling serves as a creative outlet that supports stress reduction, mood enhancement, and heightened self-awareness. Ongoing research even suggests it can strengthen immune function and sharpen cognitive abilities.
Some ways journaling can help are:
According to WebMD writing down your feelings about a difficult situation can help you understand it better. The act of putting an experience into words and structure allows you to form new perceptions about events.
Brain scans of people who wrote about their feelings showed that they were able to control their emotions better than those who wrote about a neutral experience. This study also found that writing about feelings in an abstract way was more calming than writing vividly.
Journaling alone is a transformative practice that fosters introspection and reveals insights. When combined with oracle cards, it deepens this inner dialogue even further. Each card drawn seems to deliver precisely the message needed, inviting you to explore its meaning and how it resonates with your journey.
Oracle cards serve as remarkable tools for inner exploration and guidance, regardless of whether you approach them from a spiritual perspective. They don't predict the future; rather, they offer prompts for introspection and reflection, providing profound insights into our lives.
The images and messages on these cards can inspire daily, weekly, or monthly journal prompts. Pairing an affirmation with the card's message offers a potent way to shift and reshape thoughts that may no longer serve us.
Oracle cards serve as a tool for deep self-reflection and personal insight, helping individuals delve into their thoughts and emotions on a profound level, guiding them towards their optimal self.
Thankfully, positive affirmations are as straightforward to define as they are to integrate into your routine. Simply put, they are positive phrases or statements designed to counter negative or unhelpful thoughts.
Incorporating positive affirmations into your daily life is incredibly easy—all you need to do is choose a phrase and repeat it to yourself. Whether you're seeking motivation, aiming for positive changes, or boosting self-esteem, affirmations can serve as powerful tools.
If negative self-talk tends to cloud your thoughts, positive affirmations can actively combat these subconscious patterns, replacing them with more constructive narratives.
Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life, says, "an affirmation opens the door. It’s a beginning point on the path to change. In essence, you’re saying to your subconscious mind: “I am taking responsibility. I am aware that there is something I can do to change.” When I talk about doing affirmations, I mean consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life.
Every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation. All of our self-talk, our internal dialogue, is a stream of affirmations. You’re using affirmations every moment whether you know it or not. You’re affirming and creating your life experiences with every word and thought.
Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child. Many of them work very well for you. Other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want. What you want and what you believe you deserve may be very different. You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in your life.
So think happy thoughts, it’s that simple. And it is doable. The way you choose to think, right now, is just that-a choice. You may not realize it because you’ve thought this way for so long, but it really is a choice. Now . . . today . . . this moment . . . you can choose to change your thinking. Your life won’t turn around overnight, but if you’re consistent and make the choice on a daily basis to think thoughts that make you feel good, you’ll definitely make positive changes in every area of your life."
Intuition, often described as the guiding compass of the soul, is a profound innate ability. It is the spontaneous knowledge we receive through feeling and sensing, independent of conscious reasoning. From birth, intuition is woven into our very being—it's a fundamental aspect of our human physiology. Like a muscle that strengthens with exercise, our intuitive awareness deepens through focused practice.
In our modern era, we often lose touch with this inner knowing, seeking external validation and answers. Journaling and oracle cards serve as valuable tools to reconnect with our innate intuition. They provide pathways to explore and trust our inner wisdom, reminding us that the answers we seek are already within us, our inner truths. Through these practices, we cultivate a deeper connection to ourselves and navigate life's complexities with greater clarity and authenticity.

"I was fortunate to meet Kellie at a Reiki training and felt her healing presence immediately.
I love the cards I pulled for my annual spread. Kellie worked with me on understanding each card, writing an affirmation, and what I could manifest for each month. Her warmth and love is apparent in everything she does.
I’m so grateful to Kellie and look forward to working with her in the future."
